Dozens of dogs and puppies are looking for forever homes in and around Liverpool, as families make the difficult decision to give up their pets due to the cost of living crisis.
Nearly seventy dogs are currently being cared for at Dogs Trust’s Merseyside rescue centre in Whiston, and are hoping to be matched with the perfect new owner.

5. Dexter
Dexter is a Cocker Spaniel looking for a home with his best friend Sadie. They will need to be the only pets in the home and any children will need to be over the age of 12. They are both house trained and once settled could be left for around four hours. Photo: Dogs Trust Merseyside
6. Georgie
Georgie is a Bichon Frise, looking for a home in Liverpool with her friend Roly. They can't live with other pets and any children will need to be over the age of 16. Both dogs are house trained and can be left for two hours or so, but are used to having a crate. Photo: Dogs Trust Merseyside

Ollie is a Long-haired Chihuahua looking for a home with his friend Archie. They will need to be the only pets in the home and any children, visiting or resident, will need to be over the age of 14.
