All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours as the transfer deadline closes in.

Liverpool pulled off a huge win over the weekend, defeating Newcastle United to make it two wins from their first three outings.

The Reds had 10 men for more than an hour after losing Virgil van Dijk to a red card, but two late goals from Darwin Nunez saw them bounce back to take all three points against a possible top three rival. Attention now turns to the final days of the summer transfer window, with this Friday’s deadline fast-approaching.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Anfield.

Luiz ‘interest’

Liverpool could make a move for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs.

Jacobs told TeamTalk: “Yeah, Douglas Luiz is a name that has been discussed internally by Liverpool. I’m not aware of any movement at this point. I think that it’s crystal clear that Liverpool wants to add between now and the end of the window if the right name becomes available.”

Luiz has improved significantly since Unai Emery’s arrival, and he is said to be valued at around £60million by Villa, who have also enjoyed a strong start to the season.

Gravenberch responds

Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch has been linked with a move to Liverpool over recent weeks.

Gravenberch was signed by Bayern as the next big thing, but his opportunities have been few and far between. Liverpool have now been tipped to make a move for the youngster as they look to bolster their midfield and add competition. Man Utd have also been linked, and the player himself has now responded to questions over a possible transfer.

Asked over the weekend if he could move on before the end of the transfer window, he simply responded: “I don‘t know what will happen in the next days.”
