Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain miss Liverpool’s FA Cup tie against Cardiff at Anfield.

Liverpool have confirmed that Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain miss today’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Cardiff City because of Covid-19 related reasons.

The pair have completed their required period of isolation as per government protocol.

But neither Gomez nor Oxlade-Chamberlain feature in the match-day squad for the Cardiff clash due to a lack of training.

They should be back for Thursday’s Premier League visit of Leicester, though.

Jurgen Klopp has named a strong side for the Cup clash against Championship Cardiff.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Diogo Jota all start.

Meanwhile, Luis Diaz - who was purchased for an initial fee of £37.5 million from Porto in the January transfer window - is on the bench.

As is Harvey Elliott, who featured in his first match-day squad since dislocating his ankle at Leeds in September.

Liverpool: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Henderson, Keita, Jones, Minamino, Jota, Firmino.
