Both Merseyside clubs possess plenty of great players between them and the past year has seen plenty of strong performances from individuals at both teams.

3. CB - Virgil van Dijk (7.19)

The Brentford defender has been the 'clearance king' topping the charts for the year and being a strong and physically imposing figure at the back for Thomas Frank's side.
