Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle ‘circle’ Everton striker amid Alisher Usmanov sponsorship suspension

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is reportedly being monitored by Premier League ctrio Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United amid Everton's decision to suspend ties with Alisher Usmanov.

The Russian oligarch has had his assets frozen by the UK government and the EU following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Background

USM, a Russian holding company that Mr Usmanov founded, sponsored the Toffees' Finch Farm training ground for a £12 million a year, according to The Athletic.

He also paid £30 million for the first option of naming rights for Everton's new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, which is set to open in 2024.

On Wednesday, the club suspended commercial sponsorship arrangements with the Russian companies USM, Megafon and Yota.

All branding was taken down from Goodison Park before Thursday night’s FA Cup defeat of Boreham Wood.

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has also severed all business links with Usmanov, having stepped down from the USM board.

As a result, Everton could potentially take a hit to their balance sheet - with £42 million of commercial turnover claiming to have come from USM in 2019-20.

Prized assets eyed

The Telegraph reports that potential suitors are circling if the Blues require to cash in on their prized assets.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle are three clubs who've been mentioned as admirers of Calvert-Lewin.

The England international has been linked to all three clubs in the past and are all said to be in the market for a new centre-forward in the summer.

Calvert-Lewin, who is currently injured, has finished as Everton's top scorer for the past two seasons.

Meanwhile, Richarlison has courted interest from Barcelona and PSG in the past.

The Brazil international’s contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Jordan Pickford's also said to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur as a successor to long-standing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
