A number of Everton players have found themselves linked to an exit from Goodison Park between now and when the summer transfer window opens. There's a split in the camp though as some names are less likely to be sold this year but others could be headed for the door to alleviate some of the club's money worries.

One man who could be shipped out is Amadou Onana, who has reportedly grown 'unsettled' with the Toffees and has attracted a fair bit of attention from rival Premier League sides. According to The Telegraph, the midfielder has been shortlisted by Newcastle United's recruitment team, as they believe Onana has 'the attributes and profile needed to improve the squad'.

Eddie Howe's side are on the market for new midfield options, especially as there are talks of Bruno Guimarães being sold to alleviate their own financial pressures, and Joelinton being out injured for the rest of the season.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked to Onana, who has been an important figure in Sean Dyche's team this season. The 22-year-old has featured in all but four fixtures across all competitions this season.

Everton are not out of relegation danger yet but their financial concerns are high. After clawing back their recent ten-point deduction, the Blues are facing new Profit and Sustainability charges alongside Nottingham Forest. Therefore, the club may need to cash in on some high profile players in order to balance their books.

The Telegraph report claims that Everton are looking for £50 million for Onana but it's unlikely the interested clubs will be able to pursue such a move this month and may need to wait until the summer instead.

Onana has reportedly been 'discussed intensively in recruitment meetings' but his asking price could be a roadblock for a January move. Newcastle are said to be enquiring about a loan move for the time being, followed by the rest of the money in the summer.
