We ask Liverpool: Have you joined the boom and booked a holiday abroad?

Recent changes to testing and self-isolation isolation rules for UK arrivals has sparked a boost in bookings for holidays abroad.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced last month that fully vaccinated arrivals in England will no longer have to take a COVID-19 test, while the requirement for those not in that category to self-isolate will be dropped.

Mr Shapps hailed the changes as a return to the “good old days” of international travel, but warned booster doses are likely to become a requirement of foreign trips in the future.

Meanwhile, Liverpool John Lennon Airport recently hosted a Recruitment Day with over 200 vacancies looking to be filled ahead of an expected boost in travel this summer.

So, we ask the people of Liverpool: is it time to book that holiday abroad?

Linda says: "We've had holidays booked that have been cancelled for those years, and I get the feeling that those holiday companies wouldn't allow you to cancel them anymore."

Lana says: "We're trying to live with it but we're not going to book anything. We normally go on a cruise."
