Rafa and Montse Benitez have worked with Our Lost Love Years (OLLY) Children’s Charity for many years.

Everton manager Rafa Benitez and his wife Montse have bought a holiday home in North Wales and gifted it to the OLLY Children’s Charity.

The Merseyside organisation supports children suffering with the loss of a parent and will use the three-bedroomed static caravan at the Lyons Robin Hood Holiday Park in Rhyl as they help youngsters deal with their grief and loss.

Former Liverpool boss Rafa and partner Montse have a long history with OLLY, with the charity describing the latter as “Our Angel of Kindness”.

The couple have funded trips, helped with business deals and provided clothing and support to the charity over many years.

The pair performed the official ribbon-cutting of the caravan, which has been named ‘OLLY’s Happy Place’, on Tuesday.

The Montse Benitez Foundation was set up in 2014 and backs small charities in the Liverpool area.

About OLLY

OLLY was founded by Jean Taylor after her daughter Chantel was tragically murdered aged 27 in 2004.

Grandson Joseph spoke out to nan Jean and asked for a place where children who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to acts of murder or violence could come together and talk with the same understanding and feelings.

OLLY is a place where children can meet and make new friends from communities spread across Merseyside and Wirral and speak about their experiences with peers.

Children are often more willing to talk to other children about how they are feeling. They can share their emotions during various activities and days out.

This helps each child with their grieving process.

The holiday home in Rhyl will now provide another place for children to go as they seek to come to terms with life-changing loss.
