The new data shows some areas are more heavily impacted by fly tipping than others.

New data has revealed which areas of the Wirral have the highest rates of fly tipping.

The council data - from April 14 2023 to March 26 2024 - shows there were 3,628 reports of fly tipping across the borough, with some areas more heavily impacted than others. The number of reports was almost the same as the year prior, with a decrease of just one.

Some parts of the peninsula saw more than 400 reports of fly tipping during the almost twelve month period, however, others saw far fewer incidents of fly tipping, with only 16 reports in Heswall. West Kirby, Wallasey, Pensby and Thingwall, Moreton West and Saughall Massie, Greasby, Frankby and Irby, and Eastham also saw low numbers.

The worst affected areas were located in the east of the borough in more densely populated areas such as Birkenhead. Below is every Wirral ward which saw more than 100 reports of fly tipping. Wirral Council was approached by the LDRS for comment.
