Kirkby opens its first supermarket in over forty years
Kirkby has been a town without a supermarket to serve its forty thousand residents for over forty years - however, that has changed from today.
Morrisons’ brand new outlet opened its doors on Thursday and is situated on Irlam Drive, as the town centre continues its transformation.

The supermarket will have its very own bakery, butchers and fishmonger counters, as well as providing freshly made meals through its in-store kitchen.
Customers will even have the chance to fill up their vehicles with either petrol or diesel using the new fuel station.
It joins a new ambitious retail complex that is at the heart of Knowsley Council’s regeneration of Kirkby, following their purchase of the town centre for £43.8 million in 2019.
