📰 The man killed at Switch Island when the van he was travelling in was hit by flying debris during Storm Eunice was a "beloved husband and a devoted dad".

Stephen Matthews, 68, from Aintree, was a passenger in the vehicle when the windscreen was struck on Friday in Netherton.

📰 An iconic Ainsdale pub has been up for sale. The Sands near the Pontins resort has been closed and boarded up since 2017, and now Sefton Council have put the site up for sale.

Last year, award-winning local artist Paul Curtis created a mural on nearby Toad Hall.

📰 Liverpool Theatre Festival will return for a third consecutive year. First staged in September 2020 to boost the city's live performance and creative arts sectors following the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry.

This year it will take place between Wednesday, 31 August, and Sunday, 11 September.
