Dogs Trust Merseyside are looking for foster carers and permanent families for more than sixty dogs in their care.
With less disposable income than usual, and basic household items surging in price, many people are contacting rescue charities, like Dogs Trust, and asking them to take their animals in.
The local rescue centre houses dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages, and many have had difficult lives so far.
If you follow the ‘adopt not shop’ mantra and are hoping for a new canine companion, why not pop into Dogs Trust’s Merseyside branch and meet these lovely pups.

17. Tucker
Tucker is a lovely Jack Russell Terrier, who needs a home where he is the only pet and any children in the home are over the age of 14. He is housetrained and can be left a few hours. Tucker is deaf and very wary of people who have faces obscured by masks, hats, hoods, etc. Photo: Dogs Trust
18. Yassi
Yassi is a Belgian Shepherd cross, looking for a home where somebody can be around for most of the time. Yassi can be mouthy when she wants attention and when she is over stimulated so will need any children in the home to be confident and over the age of 15. She will need to be the only pet in the home until she can learn how to play more appropriately with other dogs. It is unlikely that Yassi is house trained. Photo: Dogs Trust
