SAINTS have established a link with amateur rugby league club, Cornish Rebels.

The Rebels, who were only formed two years ago, compete in the South West Premier, and are the only club of their kind in the county.

The link was established thanks to former Saints’ doctor Viv Gillander from Bude.

The 2014 Super League champions have agreed to help coach the sport in Cornwall secondary schools for the first time ever.

‘’We have been speaking to the Rebels for some time now and we are thrilled that we can take our club to a new audience,’’ said Saints’ development boss Steve Leonard.

Rebels’ chairman John Beach said: ‘’It’s quite an achievement for us to be linked with such a famous club.

‘’It’s going to be a massive boost for rugby league in Cornwall.’’
