CHAIRMAN Eamonn McManus has pledged to convince Mel Meninga to Langtree Park ... but only for a flying visit.

Mr McManus was a guest of the Saints legend and Queensland coach (pictured with Mr McManus and pal Stan Bagshaw) during a trip to Australia to watch the recent State of Origin contest.

“It was a wonderful experience, Mal gave me a truly great insight into State of Origin,” said Mr McManus.

“Mal will be over in England for the World Cup as coach of Papua New Guinea, where rugby league is the national sport. I will certainly be making every effort to get him over to Langtree Park for a night with the fans.”

During his recent trip Down Under, Mr McManus also met up with more recent ex-saint Chris Flannery on the Sunshine Coast where Chris now lives and works.
