Bring on the Aussie champions - that’s the battle cry from Super League Grand Final winners St Helens.

Super Saints earned the right to host South Sydney Rabbitohs - winners of the NRL Grand Final for the first time in 43 years - on Sunday, February 22, in the World Club Challenge.

It followed their 14-6 victory over Wigan Warriors at Old Trafford on Saturday night and will be the final match of a newly-expanded World Club Series which will be staged in this country.

Grand Final runners-up Wigan Warriors will also lock horns with the Brisbane Broncos at the DW Stadium on Saturday, February 21, and 24 hours earlier Warrington Wolves, the third ranked Super League outfit, will entertain St George Illawarra.

Super League general manager Blake Solly said: “I am delighted that we are able to host three clubs of the stature of South Sydney, Brisbane Broncos and St George-Illawarra in the inaugural World Club Series next year.

“With their strong English connections through the Burgess brothers, the 2014 Australian champions will be a huge drawcard for the World Club Challenge and I am sure St Helens will be relishing the prospect.”
