Martin Murray told of his delight at his beloved Saints’ Grand Final win over arch-rivals Wigan.
Murray, who was at Old Trafford to witness Saints’ pulsating 14-6 win, also gave his view of Ben Flower’s attack on Lance Hohaia.
He said: “I was there and I absolutely loved it. The first half was a bit tense but Saints came out with more organisation in the second half - they went back to basics - and got the win.
“You wouldn’t even see what Flower did in a boxing ring. It was pretty out of order. You can understand the first one because they were all pumped up for the Grand Final and he reacted to a forearm in the face but the second one has got no place on a rugby pitch or anywhere else.
“The main thing was that Saints got the win. It just goes to show that hard work does pay off. They made all the fans proud, including me.”
