Prescot Swimming Club have made the perfect start to its Micro League Campaign.
The club competed for the first time in the North West Micro League.
The first of four galas saw Prescot travel to Colne to face Colne, Kirkham and Lytham St Annes with a young team of 9 to 12 year olds, some in their first competitive gala for the club.
This division C fixture got off to a great start with Prescot racing into an eight point lead after winning six of the first 12 events.
The team ably led by junior club captains Jessica Deeley and Louis Kivi produced some great team and individual performances notably by the nine-year-old girls who won all their individual swims with Grace Rhead taking two wins and Lucy Parsons and Rebecca Parkinson getting one win each.
The boys were not far behind with Giancarlo Albanese taking a first place in his first competitive gala.
The team continued the impressive start and managed to extend their lead to 20 points after 24 events, the performances continued with first places coming thick and fast from both the boys and girls team.
At the close of the gala Prescot came out on top with a massive 157 points beating Lytham St Annes who came second with 111, Kirkham third with 101 and Colne fourth with 94 points.
