TOM Makinson’s try levelled the scoreline for St Helens as they go 4-4 with Wigan at the DW Stadium.
Joe Burgess opened the scoring for the Warriors eight minutes in but Saiints woke up and enjoyed some territory in the next 10 minutes or so.
They equalised when Mark Flanagan played a great ball for Makinson to go over on the right handside. The winger failed to convert though and the scoreline stayed at 4-4.
The rest of the half got much tastier with a number of big hits making the crowd wince. Saints have been hindered though with lively half-back Luke Walsh heading straight down the tunnel with injury.
The visitors almost took the lead five minutes before the break but Makinson was denied by Burgess who batted a loose ball away in the in-goal area.
