A Prescot woman has been charged with attempted murder and child cruelty after a newborn baby was discovered inside an amusement arcade toilet block.
The woman, 29, who has not been named, is set to appear before South Sefton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday, April 22).
The infant, who was described as safe and well, was found inside the disabled toilets at Silcock’s Amusement Arcade on Neville Street, Southport, at about 7pm last Thursday (April 16).
It is thought the baby girl’s birth was unsupervised. The child was being looked after at Ormskirk Hospital where staff named her April.
