Water supply has been returned to homes in St Helens after a water main burst cut supplies.
United Utilities engineers finished repairing a large water main on Scafell Road and water pressure continued to build up throughout the early hours of the morning.
Martin Padley, United Utilities water services director, said: “We deployed eleven water tankers around St Helens to maintain pressure in the water network.
“It was thanks to this and the hard work of our repair team that we were able to restore supplies before people were getting up this morning. We want to thank residents for their patience.”
