Water main burst still affecting residents

Residents in properties across the WA10 and WA11 areas are still being affected by a burst water main.

Residents are advised that a water main has burst on Scafell Road, which serves around 8,000 homes and businesses in the WA10 and WA11 areas.

This may result in tap water running slowly or no water at all. The burst is connected to works by United Utilities under the Scafell Road/A580 East Lancashire Road bridge to repair a leak on the water main.

United Utilities engineers are already on site and working to get taps flowing normally as soon as possible.

Residents are advised that Central Library has closed early today, having been affected by the burst.
