The public is urged to be cautious after prescription drugs were stolen in St Helens.

Merseyside Police is reminding the public that taking any medication which has not been prescribed can be dangerous and in some instances fatal after 36 Diazepam tablets and 12 Zopiclone tablets were stolen on Monday.

It is believed that the medication was stolen from the North Road area of St Helens Town Centre at around 1pm on Monday afternoon, before later being reported to police.

Anyone who finds any of the medication is asked to hand it into any pharmacy or police station or call officers on the 101 number.
