Hollywood actor Tim Roth has been spotted in Prescot filming a new BBC drama about the Iraq war.

The film is called Reg and is a 90 minute drama written by Jimmy McGovern.

Roth, who made his name starring in the Quentin Tarantino films Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, filmed a number of scenes in Prescot Parish Church.

He is also said to have filmed a number of scenes in Knowsley Hall and Beaconsfield.

Roth will play Reg Keys, the father of British serviceman Tom, who died during the Iraq war.
