A VICIOUS thug who punched a disabled woman in the neck before slashing a pensioner’s face with a knife has been put behind bars.
Mark Jenkinson was jailed for eight years at Liverpool Crown Court last Friday (October 28) after a jury found him guilty of grievous bodily harm, common assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
The 38-year-old, of Grosvenor Court, Prescot, was arrested following an incident at a pub on Warrington Road, Rainhill, on July 2.
The court heard how Jenkinson punched a 54-year-old disabled woman in the neck during the flashpoint before slashing a 65-year-old man in the face with a knife.
As well as being jailed for eight years, a judge also ordered the defendant to serve an extra four years on licence when he is released.
The police officer in charge of the case, Detective Constable Bob Sandham, said: “This was an extremely frightening incident for those involved.
“Thanks to the swift actions of members of the public Jenkinson was arrested at the scene and will now face a lengthy period behind bars.”
