THREE boys have been left with burns after an incident with a firework.
Two of the boys remain in hosital after they were injured by the firework at around 8.30pm last night, Friday, on Ridgewood Drive, St Helens.
Detective Inspector Robbie Moss said: “We are speaking with the injured boys to piece together the full events of what’s gone on in Ridgewood Drive, but are appealing for the public’s help.
“This incident is yet another unwanted reminder of how dangerous fireworks can be in the wrong hands. While they have suffered burns, these boys could have suffered more serious injuries.
“We are looking at CCTV from the area and conducting house to house enquiries but are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to get in contact.
“Our message is simple, enjoy this time of year and the organised displays on offer, but extra officers will continue to be on the streets over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period and anyone under age, caught in possession of fireworks, will be dealt with robustly.”
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact St Helens CID on 0151 777 6049 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
