REGULARS were so underwhelmed with a pub’s bright new paint job that it’s now been repainted in the original colour scheme!
Residents living near the Seven Stars pub in Eccleston told of their disbelief last month when workmen giving the pub a much-needed makeover started painting a section of the front bright orange.
One regular at the Millbrook Lane pub even thought the new “tangerine dream” section was an undercoat which was set to be painted over!
But the Flaming Grill pub chain has now repainted the entire front section its traditional cream colour.
New orange signage has now been added - but is much more understated than the initial paint job.
A Spirit Pub Company spokeswoman said: “We listened to residents’ views and decided to repaint the front section in a cream colour. We hope local people will be happy and will frequent the newly-refurbished pub.
“We always welcome feedback regarding our colour scheme. Flaming Grill is a young brand which is evolving all the time.”
Coun Geoff Almond (pictured left) was among the first to spot the striking paint job last month.
