A homeless man from St Helens who was found with a machete in Phoenix Brow is among those appearing before magistrates.

Andrew Joseph Paladino (35): Billinge Crescent, St Helens - Stole five tubs of Celebrations to the value of £20 belonging to the Co-op and five other theft offences relating to chocolates and sweets taken from the Co-op: Jailed for 30 weeks, criminal behaviour order for four years not to enter any Co-Op self-service store or remain on any retail store in St Helens when asked to leave, £3259 compensation, £180 criminal courts charge.

Martin Anthony Hockey (47): No fixed address - Stole a quantity of makeup worth £40 belonging to Wilkinsons in Cotham Street, St Helens: Conditional discharge for six months, £15 victim surcharge, criminal courts charge of £150.

Paul Charles Middlehurst (35): No fixed address, St Helens - Assaulted Graham Hughes, occassioning actual bodily harm, had a machete in Phoenix Brow, St Helens without good reason or lawful authority - Sent for trial at Liverpool Crown Court on December 9.
