We love open-air summer shows, so are really looking forward to playing Haydock Park on June 18 after the racesThe Corrs
Last year, more the 40,000 fans descended onto the hallowed turf to see show-stopping headlining performances from Kylie, Madness and Kaiser Chiefs after a day of racing.
Since releasing their album Forgiven, Not Forgotten in 1996, The Corrs have gone on to sell more than 30m albums worldwide.
Known for hits including Runaway and Breathless, the band took a 10-year break to spend time with their families while Sharon and Andrea also pursued solo careers.
They returned last year to a rapturous welcome, with their album White Light going straight into the UK charts at #11 and saw the band catapulted back into the touring circuit with a sold-out arena tour.
The Corrs said: “We love open-air summer shows, so are really looking forward to playing Haydock Park on June 18 after the races. We had a fantastic time playing songs from our new album White Light at the Echo Arena at the start of the year so can’t wait to perform all our hits for a few familiar faces and more this summer.” Jason Fildes, Haydock Park General Manager, said: “We’re delighted to announce The Corrs to kick off a thrilling summer of music at Haydock Park – they are a superb globally renowned band who I’m sure will create an electric atmosphere after a top class day of racing. Last year was our most successful year of music at Haydock Park which included a sell-out performance by Kylie - I’m sure this year will be even better, starting with The Corrs on Saturday June 18; we look forward to announcing other exciting acts shortly.”
An Evening At The Races’ kicks off earlier in the day with a six race card - giving fans the chance to witness powerful equine athletes who are stars in their own right, and enjoy the thrilling drama and spectacle of them racing for glory.
