Two teenagers had to be rescued by firefighters after getting stuck on the roof of a toilet block in a St Helens park.

Firefighters were called to Sherdley Park shortly before 8pm on Sunday August 7.

They found two 13-year-old girls on the roof of the building, which was about 10ft high.

The crew from St Helens fire station used an extension ladder to bring the girls, who were completely unhurt, safely back to the ground.

The incident lasted around 15 minutes.
