The family of a St Helens teenager shot with an air rifle is still searching for answers a fortnight on from the attack.
The 19-year-old trainee plasterer was hit to the side of his back and said the mindless gang carried on down the road to fire at other passers-by.
Parents Andy and Ann are now appealing for help to identify the offenders as they are concerned it could happen again.
Ann said: “Callum told us they shot about 10 times before his friends realised they were being targeted and then he was hit.
“They were going after anyone and anyone. He was quite shook up about it. The bullet didn’t pierce the skin because he had a thick shirt on but it left a nasty mark. It could have been a lot worse if it had been his head.”
The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday May 29 and has been reported to Merseyside Police. Callum and his friends did not get chance to see who was in the car but the vehicle is described as a gold or silver coloured VW Golf.
Ann added: “We just don’t want this happening again, the police have told us they can’t find a similar car on their records but we’re hoping it has been picked up on CCTV further up the road.”
If anyone has any information they urged to contact the police’s 101 number.
