Teaching unions have withdrawn their plans for strike action at De La Salle School in St Helens.
Members of the NASUWT were due to take industrial action yesterday and for three days next week but this action has now been cancelled.
It is thought unions decided to call off the strike because the dates clashed with pupils’ exams.
However, the union says it now plans to take five days strike action in June.
A council spokesman said: “The council will continue to support the governors in their efforts to resolve this ongoing issue.”
