St Helens man found drowned in lake

A 58-year-old man from St Helens has been found dead in Southport Marine Lake.

Christopher Barlow’s body was discovered on Saturday morning (June 4) but was only formally identified yesterday (Tuesday).

A post-mortem has revealed Mr Barlow died from drowning.

His next of kin have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives want to establish how Mr Barlow came to be in Southport and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
