As part of their enquiries, the police also completed a search warrant at a garage on Bradlegh Road, which was believed to be linked to the address.

They found two stolen high-powered motorbikes in the garage.

A 27-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis. He has been released under investigation.

Community Inspector Neil Birkett said: “I hope this arrest and seizures reassures the public that Merseyside Police is working hard to tackle criminals intent on stealing and is cracking down on those who grow cannabis at the heart of our communities, a trade often fuelled by violent crime.

"I would appeal to people across Merseyside to call us if they know where stolen bikes are being stored or have information about the people who are using them.”

Anyone with information on drugs or thefts in their communities is asked to contact Merseyside Police's social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
