Keen gardeners in St Helens are being urged to renew their garden waste collection permits
Renewals are being accepted now online or telephone for the fortnightly service, which provides an easy way of disposing of garden waste.
Council officials are asking residents to renew or subscribe to the service early to ensure their collections continue over the summer.
More than 25,500 households signed up to the garden waste collection service across the borough in 2017.
The cost is £31 per year for each green bin if people sign up online, or £36 if the sign-up is by phone with a credit or debit card.
An extension has been made to the 2018/19 collection season, so there will be an extra pick-up in December, restarting, after a January break, during the first week in February.
This will provide an three extra collections per year to each household.
To subscribe, visit www.sthelens.gov.uk/gardenwaste or call the council’s contact centre on 01744 676789.
Residents are being asked not to place their new blue permit on their bin until May 28, as the new season does not begin until June 4.
