Prescot Primary School has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School for 2015-2017.

This is the first school in Knowsley to receive this accolade.

The Apple Distinguished School designation is reserved for programmes that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.

The award is a culmination of a ten year journey for the school, working with the borough’s City Learning Centres.

The school was invited to apply in recognition of the work undertaken in successfully integrating technology into classroom.

Steve George, headteacher at Prescot Primary School, said: “I’m delighted that we have been recognised and becoming an Apple Distinguished School will enable the school to further develop its use of learning technologies, as well as exchanging best practice with other schools, both within Knowsley and across the country.

“Pupil feedback has been extremely positive on the use of technology in lessons and I’m delighted we have been recognised as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students.”

The school has ensured their curriculum and learning styles truly adopt technology in the classrooms, providing an enhanced learning environment.
