POLICE have named a pensioner who was killed in a horror crash.
Maureen Ann Keenan, 77, sustained fatal injuries in a three-car crash on St James Road in Rainhill on the afternoon of Thursday, April 5.
A floral tribute has now been placed at the scene.
Mrs Keenan’s husband James, 78, also suffered injuries and was taken for treatment at Whiston Hospital.
A police spokesman confirmed that Mr Keenan’s injuries were “serious” but was unable to provide an update on his current condition.
As reported last week, police made two arrests after a Volvo S60, a Volvo S40 and a Ford Fiesta collided shortly before 2pm.
A 21-year-old man from Dentons Green and a 20-year-old man from Rainhill were both arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have both since been bailed pending further inquiries.
Emergency crews had to remove the roof of Mrs Keenan’s car to help rescue the trapped pensioners before taking them to Whiston Hospital.
Another man, from one of the other cars involved in the crash, was taken to hospital with a suspected broken right leg and lacerations to his right hand.
Anyone who witnessed the collision - or who has any information about it - can contact traffic officers on 0151 777 5444 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
