A serial shoplifter has been jailed for 14 weeks after targeting a series of stores in St Helens.
Anthony Ratcliffe, 36, of Phoenix Brow, St Helens, was convicted of various shoplifting offences.
He was caught stealing household goods worth £14.27 from B&M in November this year.
That offence occurred while Ratcliffe was serving a suspended sentence order for similar shoplifting offences.
JPs ruled they were imposing a custodial sentence because of “the number of similar convictions and in breach of suspended Sentence” order.
Among the items in Ratcliife’s haul were a Babyliss Precision Beard Trimmer, a mens fragrant gift sets, and hair straighteners.
