Police are appealing for information from the public after a burglar targeted a St Helens address in broad daylight.

Thieves broke into a home on Forest Street sometime between 10.15am to 4.30pm. The unknown suspect smashed their way through a kitchen window ti gain entry.

Once inside the address, the suspect conducted an untidy search and stole the keys to a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer motorcycle, registration number AY56 EJU.

After locating the keys the suspect then forced entry into a detached garage and stole the bike before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are currently ongoing and investigation officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious.

Detective Inspector Jason Pye said; “Burglary is a despicable act as its targets people in the one place they should be able to feel safe, their own home.”

“Forest Street is a busy road and I am certain that there will be somebody who will have seen something, no matter how small, and I urge them to contact the team here at St Helens so we can bring the offenders to justice.”

Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 101 or St Helens CID on 0151 777 6802 quoting crime reference number is 0517201891. Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
