Police name crash victim

Police have named a cyclist who died following an early hours crash on the outskirts of St Helens.

Terry Brown, 47, of Great Sankey, Warrington, sustained serious head injuries following a collision on Warrington Road, Bold Heath, at about 6.30am on Tuesday (February 18).

He sadly died in hospital on Tuesday night.

Mr Brown had been discovered on Warrington Road by a passing motorist at about 6.40am and rushed to Aintree Hospital for emergency treatment.

A 38-year-old Warrington man who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remains in police custody.
