DETECTIVES are hunting these three men in connection with a “nasty” confrontational burglary on the outskirts of St Helens.
In the incident three men threatened a homeowner along Twyford Lane, Bold Heath, with a kitchen knife before fleeing the victim’s property with a small beige safe.
The trio, who all spoke with soft Liverpool accents, made their getaway in the victim’s car - a silver Vauxhall Corsa - which was later discovered dumped on nearby Mill Green Lane, Widnes.
The offence occurred at about 4.30pm on Sunday, December 12, but police have now released this CCTV image of three men they would like to speak to.
Two of the offenders are described as being 5ft 6in tall and of medium build.
One of the men was wearing a striped scarf covering his face while the other two had their faces covered with dark scarves.
The third man is described as between 5ft 10in and 5ft 11in tall and of slim build.
All three were wearing hooded tops.
Two of the men were wearing light coloured trousers with dark jackets and the third was wearing dark trousers with a two-toned dark jacket.
It is believed that they are all in their mid-20s.
The victim was left with a minor facial injury and was left “very shaken” by the incident.
DC Roy Waller said: “This was a nasty aggravated burglary that has left the victim very shaken by his ordeal.
“Crimes of this nature are totally unacceptable and we are appealing to anyone with any information about this incident, or who may have seen a Vauxhall Corsa in the area containing the three offenders, to come forward so we can take action against the offenders.”
Anyone with any information can call St Helens CID on 0151 777 1567, or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
