Police are hunting a thug who broke a woman’s jaw during a hen night in St Helens town centre.
Emergency crews were called to the junction of Ormskirk Street and Westfield Street - outside the Sefton Arms pub - at about 7.20pm on Saturday (October 5).
A 39-year-old woman, who was in the company of a group of other women, had sustained “serious facial injuries” in an assault moments earlier.
Paramedics took her to hospital for treatment and she was subsequently diagnosed as having suffered a broken jaw.
The offender was white, aged in his 20s, of slim build with fair hair. Wearing a grey jumper and jeans, he ran away following the assault.
Police conducted a search of the area and house-to-house enquiries were commenced. CCTV footage from the area is also being sought and an investigation into the full circumstances of the incident described as being “ongoing”.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information can contact Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
