THE Prescot branch of a top sales and lettings agent in the region is bucking a national trend.

Branch manager of award-winning estate agent, Andrew Louis, which was founded in 1989, Michelle Hancock says that although prices in the North West have seen a 0.7% decrease in the last 12 months to July, the property market is still showing the right signs of recovery.

She said: “We have been very busy over the past six months at this branch with an influx of new inquiries both in sales and lettings, which has resulted in more viewings of properties, leading to in an increase of offers and sales agreed.

“The new demand seems to be down to the increased confidence in the market, the relaxation of lenders’ criteria and a better range of products available, which has allowed more first-time buyers to enter the market and this has in turn allowed the second steppers to move on.

“More first time buyers coming back to the market is very positive. The harsh criteria, which held back first-time buyers from entering the market had a knock-on effect on people wanting to sell and they were therefore forced to sit in a stagnant market.”

Andrew Louis is also responding to the growing demands of house hunters by expanding the availability of its services to customers. The Prescot branch has extended their opening hours until 7pm every Thursday, catering to the needs of potential buyers and letters by providing them more time to view properties outside of working hours.

Andrew Louis is one of the first estate agent in the region to increase its opening hours to cater for 9 – 5 workers and so far it has been extremely successful.

Michelle added: “With the increasing demand, we felt it necessary to remain open later on a Thursday. We also understand that people who work nine to five are often too busy to sort out their property needs during the working day, therefore instead of having to rush viewings and meetings with us at a lunch time, they can come and see us after their working day and view houses in a more relaxed way.

“The extra hours will ease the stress for people during the process of buying or selling their house.”

Andrew Louis recently opened its third office in Old Swan, further expanding its coverage from the city into the suburbs in conjunction with its Prescot and city centre branches.

People who decide to sell or let out their property with the Prescot Branch of Andrew Louis will also benefit from it being advertised in the Old Swan and city centre branches.

All properties are also advertised on Andrew Louis’ award winning website.
