POLICE have been successful in obtaining a closure order against a house in St Helens, following reports of anti-social behaviour.

The order means that no-one will be able to attend the address for a three-month period.

St Helens Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Brennan said: “We can confirm that a Closure Order has been put in place at an address on Glamorgan Close.

“The order was applied for by the local neighbourhood policing team in response to intelligence from the community. This type of information from the public is vital in policing St Helens and we would encourage anyone with information to contact us.

“We believe the occupants at this address were causing serious nuisance for the community. We received numerous reports of disorder, drug use and associated anti-social behaviour and litter and closure orders are put in place in an effort to reduce this type of crime and to allow the local residents of St Helens to enjoy the quality of life that they are entitled to.

“We will continue to target offenders and any associated properties, who make the lives of law abiding members of the community a misery, and will do this using all lawful powers available to us in order to make St Helens a safer and more peaceful place to live.

“This Closure Order was only made possible due to the assistance of the local community and we will continue to be robust in tackling criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.
