The cause of death of St Helens rugby league referee Chris Leatherbarrow is yet to be established, a pre-inquest hearing has been told.

An inquest into the 27-year-old death was opened and adjourned earlier this month.

But a coroners’ officer told the St Helens Reporter a post-mortem had not yet been carried out.

Chris’ body was found at a house in Blackbrook on November 1.

Emergency services were called at 4.10pm but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
