Police have launched a murder investigation after a Lancashire solicitor died from a single stab wound to the chest.
The 51-year-old, named locally as David Mark Edwards, was found at a house in Parker’s Wood Close, Chorley on Sunday evening.
A 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently helping detectives with their enquiries.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We were called to Parker’s Wood Close at around 8.30pm.
“A 51-year-old man was found with a stab wound to the chest. He was dead at the scene.
“A murder investigation is underway.
“We have got a 42-year-old woman from Chorley in custody on suspicion of murder.”
Officers said they were unable to confirm the dead man’s identity until all relatives had been informed.
