A St Helens mum-of-two is celebrating double national award wins for the Amazon-best-selling products she has invented for weaning babies.

Helen Davies, aged 40, from Cowley Hill Lane, received a BizzieBaby UK Gold Award for the EasyMat Mini – a highchair feeding and travel suction plate and placemat – as well as a BizzieBaby UK Silver Award for her innovative weaning spoons.

The accolades came after extensive product testing was carried out by BizzieBaby UK’s independent parent review panel.

“These are our first national awards, which are even more special for being based on votes from real parents,” says Helen, who recently sold her commercial cleaning company to focus on designing practical, inventive and fun products for families.

“They put our products through the paces – rigorously testing them over a four-week period with their weaning babies, who were aged six to nine months; I am absolutely over the moon with their feedback.”

Five-star rave reviews for the EasyMat Mini included that: ‘Portion size is very good; the aspect I liked most about this was portability and the suction cups to prevent throwing’, while the four-pack of weaning spoons were declared: ‘A helpful product built on a simple idea… stylish and safe for babies to hold’.

The award wins follow a massive period of growth for Helen’s burgeoning company, which is in talks to secure a global distribution network spanning Asia and Europe.

As a committed dog rescuer, Helen also launched the world’s first portable pop-up integrated dog bowl and mat this summer, and on both sides of the Atlantic.

“I love to go walking and to camp in our motorhome with my partner Lloyd, our two children Elora, aged six – who attends St Mary’s and St Thomas C of E Primary School – and Keira, aged three, as well as our rescue dogs: Yorkshire Terrier Izzie and Chihuahua Tink,” says Helen, who also has a 10-year-old Chocolate Labrador called Kaiser.

“Keeping our feeding area free from mess and our dogs well fed and hydrated on the move was proving tricky – especially when we ventured out into the park and woodlands, or to the beach near our campsite.

“I realised we needed a safe, hygienic portable feeding and drinking station – something that we could simply hang up or roll up, and which came with its own carry case.

“That’s why I’ve patented the Roll ‘N’ Go – a complete food and water bowl system with an integrated mat that rolls up in seconds to the size of a small newspaper.

“I’m really proud to have created such a convenient way to give your dog easy access to plenty of water – especially on hot sunny days.”

With two growing product lines in continual development – spanning different sectors – this ‘mumpreneur’ is not resting on her laurels, even as she heads into the busy Christmas-selling season.

“Our EasyTots and EasyPets journeys are only just beginning, and I am looking forward to patenting lots of products that make life happier, easier and more fun for families and their pets,” says Helen.

“We have big plans for 2018, which shows that the entrepreneurial spirit is well and truly alive in Merseyside!”
