ONE lane was closed on the motorway in the early hours of the morning after a driver lost control of his car.
He was taken to Whiston Hospital, with suspected lower back injuries and was treated at the scene for shock.
One lane was closed for a short time while the vehicle was recovered.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was involved in a separate incident on the East Lancs Road, at noon on Saturday.
He lost control and hit the reservation barrier and lamp post near Haydock Island.
He was also taken to Whiston Hospital with suspected back and neck injuries.
The carriageway was closed by police as fire crews aided the driver.
