School bosses are to create a memorial garden in tribute to a St Helens schoolgirl who collapsed and died during an exam.

Jessica Davies, 16, was placed in an induced coma after suffering a series of seizures during an exam less than two weeks before her death.

The 16-year-old passed away in March at St Cuthbert’s High.

It is believed the memorial garden will also honour 13-year-old Carl Eriksson, who died after falling ill on 2012 and former Sutton headteacher Monica Gallimore.

After Jessica’s death, more than £4,000 has been raised for her funeral.

The Go Fund Me page was started by members of the ambulance crew which took Jessica to hospital after she collapsed.

A statement on the page read: “Jessica Davies was a 16-year-old girl who collapsed in school, during an exam. Less than two weeks later she died in hospital.

“This came as total shock to her family, who now have to pay for her funeral. We want to remember her with the best send off ever.

“We have raised well over £4000. I have spoken to Jessica’s family and they are overwhelmed and eternally grateful for the love and support shown.

“Jessica will be laid to rest in a lavish ceremony on Friday. Her handmade casket contains pictures of all the people Jessica loved. She will be carried by a horse and cart, followed by a limousine full of flowers.

“We will remember this beautiful girl and celebrate her short life. “
