A ST Helens man has been fined after he admitted failed to clean up after his pet dog.

Brendan Brownbill, of Dentons Green Lane, St Helens, was fined £50 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 plus £275 costs.

He was caught allowing his pet to foul on the steet in Queens Park.

Brownbill was found guilty in his absence by Knowsley magistrates (on Monday 6 February) of offences under the Dogs Fouling of Land Act.

The offence was witnessed by one of St Helens Council’s dog wardens.

St Helens Council’s Cabinet Member for Environmental Protection, Councillor Alison Bacon said: “This sends a clear message to irresponsible dog walkers throughout the borough.”
