Sharp-eyed CCTV operators helped police to detain a man reported as acting aggressively in the town centre.
The aggressive behaviour in Church Square was reported by concerned residents at 5.15pm, May 23, to staff at the Police Joint Control Centre.
Police Joint Control Centre staff asked CCTV operators to monitor and report the male’s movements whilst police officers made their way to the area.
CCTV operators monitored the male as requested, enabling police officers to arrest the man on the scene in Church Square.
Police confirmed a 17-year-old male was arrested on 23 May, charged with possession of a bladed article and bailed to appear in court.
